These adorable little electric stingray are between 10-14cm long, and are displayed in 65mm diameter globes with the new style of resin base.

These little creatures actually swim via propulsion from their tails, rather than by undulating their fins like most other ray species would. As such, they show less of the blue stain due to not needing as much soft cartilagenous tissues in their outer fins. The empty looking spaces either side of their mouths and gills are actually where their electrical organs are. If you look closely, you can see the tiny little hexagonal honeycomb structure of the stacked ‘cells’ - which are actually modified muscles.
