Foetal Kitten Developmental Display Raffle Box

125.00

Each box contains a mix of 3 or 4 gorgeous diaphonised specimens, and your name in the draw to score a set of 4 diaphonised kittens, showing the progressing development of the animal from a young embryo up until birth. I am estimating the ages to be approximately 25 days, 40 days, 65 days, and the largest being no more than a week old postpartum.

The specimens in the box are three or four tropical fish specimens, and one random item from the below list:
Diaphonised fish earrings (x 6)
Diaphonised cane toad earrings (x 1)
Mixed colour and ages rats/mice (x 38)
Imperfect (but stupidly cool) baby hedgehog (x 4)
Electric Stingray (x 1)

It’s worth noting that of the mice and rats in the raffle boxes, 20 of the purple and blue diaphonised mice are imperfect, which you can see in the photos. These specimens struggled to pick up the bone stain during treatment, possibly due to the calcium in the bone becoming mobilised for use as a co-factor by the trypsin enzyme during digestion. This is my theory at least, I have only seen this type of mal-staining happen once before and I put it down to excess heat exposure during this process. Regardless, they are gorgeous specimens nonetheless, and an interesting little hiccup! Similarly, the hedgehogs I’ve been working on have been CRAZY trouble for me. I was sent them from a friend overseas (we don’t have hedgehogs here in Aus!) and I’m not 100% sure how or why, but in diaphonising these little guy’s I’ve had to completely re-work the protocol I normally use as they’ve been much more challenging to process than I’d anticipated!!

Theres a lot of images here so it’s definitely worth taking a look!
